One of the distinctive features of Moscow State University Branch is that about 70 percent of its faculty consists of MSU scientists, and 30 percent are among the best and most experienced teachers in Tajikistan. Teaching is conducted by a special shift method. The courses are taught within the curricula approved by the Rector of Moscow State University and compiled according to the unified standards of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Subjects in the main specialties are taught by professors of Moscow University, including many scientists who have academic degrees of a Doctor of science or PhD. At the Branch, there are three chemical laboratories (general chemistry, physical chemistry, physical and chemical methods of analysis), physical lab, three geological labs (geology, soil science, engineering geology and hydrogeology), six computer classes, four language laboratories, four study halls equipped with modern technology; a traditional and electronic libraries. Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Branch offers three directions, including "Geology" supervised by the Faculty of Geology, Moscow State University. Field workshops for future geologists are organized in a field camp in the mountain village of Ziddi. In their fourth year, students have a training workshop on special research methods held on the research base of the Faculty of Geology, MSU, at the Zvenigorod Biological Station of Moscow State University, Odintsovo District (Moscow Region).

DIRECTION OF TRAINING 05.03.02 - GEOLOGY
The main educational Bachelor's programme in the direction "Geology" is realized at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the MSU Branch in the city of Dushanbe. The programme is developed on the basis of the Federal state educational bachelor standard for the direction 05.03.01 Geology. Bachelor of Geology is focused on studying the structure of the earth's crust, searching and exploring mineral deposits, solving specific geological, geophysical, geochemical, hydrogeological and engineering-geological, oil and gas and environmental-geological problems.
